What has the IPL achieved over the last one and half months?

There was non-stop cricket, non-stop travel for the players and fans interested in following their teams, there was non-stop entertainment, there was Lalit Modi beaming at the camera at almost every match. Then there were the celebrities – Shah Rukh and his Bollywood Bridgade, businessman and their wives, cricketers former and present.

In all the din did we miss something?

Yes, the performances from most of the most expensive players were average or below-par. It was disappointing to see some of them fail repeatedly.  Some of the best performances came from local heros. Some youngsters impressed with their maturity others looked out of depth. Over the course of the last month and half if you ask were they any memorable performances, I have to really think hard because frankly most of time I don’t even remember who played against whom yesterday.

It was a blur of good entertainment over the course of 44 days.
