The Knight Riders made a disastrous start when 2 wickets fell for no runs. Chaminda Vaas got rid both the openers for nought. But Owais Shah and Angelo Mathews did a great job in the later overs to put up a remarkable score of 161 for 4 wickets. Shah making his debut in the IPL tournament made a 50 in his maiden outing. The Deccan Chargers will need to score 162 in 20 overs to beat the knight riders.
Knight Riders will be playing against the Deccan Chargers in their first match tomorrow at Mumbai.
Deccan Charges are the Champion Team and will be playing to retain the trophy that they won last year. The Knight Riders after two rough outings will want to try and start winning this year. Last year John Buchanan with rotating captaincy theory had made a complete mockery of the Kolkata Knight rider team. Controversy thy name Kolkata Knight Riders! Controversy seems to following the KKR team like a Siamese twin.
Ajay Jadeja the 3 days ago accused the foreign staff of the KKR team of abusing Indian cricketers. Specifically Andy Bichel was supposed to have some choice words for Ajit Agarkar.
Hardly has that controversy died down when a fresh one crops up. This time it is the accusation that KKR team deliberately lost their match against the Royal Challengers Bangalore. Inspite, of scoring 173 the Kolkata team lost. Lalit Modi has been asked to investigate the match.
SRK needs to do something drastic by next season to get his team into reasonable shape. All these controversies are not making a good impression on the younger members of the KKR team. IT is highly unfair for the youngsters to go through this in the name IPL.
KKR team extended their losing streak to 8 matches when they lost the Delhi Daredevils. The Daredevils won the match by 7 wickets and with overs to spare. South Africa has not been kind to the KKR team. Hopefully the next few matches will help reverse the trend. But this might upset some teams chances of reaching the semis.
