RE-TWEET IT!

Darren Rowse of Problogger did a ‘Best of 2007′ post. Technosailor followed with one of his own. And seeing them both do it, I was tempted :)

Money.Power.Wisdom launched in July 2007. I started taking it seriously only in November. So there isn’t a whole lot to boast about – yet.

Still, for what it’s worth, here are some posts that readers felt were useful, interesting or entertaining – or maybe none of the above, though they still kept them visiting and coming back!

In descending order, here are the posts on this blog that readers voted for by visiting and telling their friends about them.

#10 – A Beginner’s Guide to Getting More StumbleUpon Traffic – An in-depth guide to getting more StumbleUpon traffic with detailed information about the process that helped even a beginner at StumbleUpon like myself get amazing and fast results.

#9 – Beyond Influence – The New Online Frontier – Blogs and email lists are assets that give their owners influence. Their owners took the time, trouble and effort to build influence assets. But is it easy and fast?

#8 – 7 Bloggers With Influence – A short list of bloggers who had the most influence on me in 2007 – along with the reasons for this.

#7 – Do YOU Measure Blog Influence by ‘Comments’ – Or ‘Audience’? – Comments and feedback are very important metrics if you measure ‘influence’ by the ability to initiate a conversation. But there’s another effective parameter to track. Know what it is?

#6 – Secrets of Influential Blogging – Having influence is the ‘Holy Grail’ for many bloggers, as it can translate into money, power and wisdom. Yet influence is but the natural end-point of a sequence of events that begin with attention.

#5 – Blogging for Affiliate Profits – Part 1 – How would you like to learn about a method where your blogging can bring in cash – quickly, without your own product or mailing list, no customer service hassles or sales staff, and practically hands-free?

#4 – Is ‘Dr.Mani’ a ‘Global Microbrand’? Why? – A riff on a meme sparked off by GapingVoid’s Hugh Macleod – about global microbrands.

#3 – Dr.Mani’s Crystal Ball – Predictions for 2008 – I consulted my fortune-teller, then gazed into my crystal ball, and came up with this list of predictions for 2008…

#2 – What’s Worth Striving For In Your Blogging? – Can blogging become something more than a marketing platform?

#1 – Blogging For Influence – Where’s YOUR Fire? – Many online assets I’ve built have given me influence. And that’s because the assets were built with passion.

Which one is YOUR favorite?

And would you like to share YOUR best posts in 2007 too?

What Influenced My New Year Resolution?

At first, I wasn’t going to make one – because very rarely do they get ‘kept’.

Then, I wasn’t going to make them public – because I feel embarrassed when they don’t get done… and everyone knows!

But Marina Martin changed all that – because she’s going to be blogging about some of her friends’ resolutions… and hopefully she’ll work on mine and refine it in a way that’ll make it practical and do-able.

Look at the way she took Andrew Paradies’ new year resolution and shaped it into something more finite and actionable.

By the way, Marina has a very nice guide to setting and clearly defining New Year resolutions – and you can get the “Ultimate Guide to New Year Resolutions” for free from her blog – click here

So, after this long introduction, let’s get down to brass tacks. This is my New Year resolution for 2008…

I want to create systems for the various contact-management tasks I need to stay on top of – with donors, clients and even family and friends.

As of now, this is a hit-or-miss thing. Some days, I feel like writing or calling someone – and other days, I don’t. Many once-close relationships are now cold, remote and shaky.

It’s costing me a lot – in stress, loneliness and even money.

2008 is when I’ve decided to fix this – by creating systems for contact. That’s my New Year resolution.

What’s yours?

Blogging for Influence – Silently, Subliminally

Strident shouting from the roof-tops gets you a certain kind of attention. People look to see who’s making such a ruckus.
Often, such attention is short lasting. Rarely does it lead to influence.
And then, there is the silent, subliminal kind of influence that creeps up on you. It is earned [...]

Random Thoughts on Authority and Influence

As a medical professional, I view terms like ‘authority‘ or ‘specialist‘ or ‘expert‘ in a different light than seems to be the norm on the Web today.
An expert or specialist, in medical parlance, would be someone who has devoted a significant period of time and effort to the systematic study, and then mastery, of a [...]

"Most influential DADS In The Blogosphere?" Feh!

Linkbait is often outrageous. Or irrelevant. I mean, what has gender got to do with blogging?
And this collection is no less than others.
The reason it struck a nerve is that it’s nearing the first anniversary of my father’s passing – and the past 12 months have given me deep perspective into just how [...]

2 Ways To Build a Blog with Influence

A couple of weeks back, I ordered a boxed set of DVDs by Seth Godin.  They arrived yesterday.  I’ve been watching them every spare minute.  My brain is on fire, with many great ideas running through them.
But that’s not what this post is about.  It’s about the 2 ways to blog with influence I learned [...]

Blogging for Influence : Embrace Your Brand

There are many things I might like to be known as, or for.
“#1 Most Influential Blogger” may be one.  “Richest Internet Infopreneur” could be another.  “World’s Best Dad” surely is a title I’d love.
But when it comes to your personal brand, you have little choice or control over how your audience perceives you.  So, the [...]
