My Last Hurrah!

RE-TWEET IT!

My Last HurrahI’m taking a ’sabbatical’ from the regular work I do online – to pursue a dream.

A couple of movies I watched recently shared a similar theme. Both light-heartedly, yet sensitively, explored the serious subject of dying. More specifically, how to LIVE before dying.

“The Bucket List” was about making a list of things to do before one dies – and then working through it. “The Last Holiday” was about daring to do the things one always hesitated about – until the realization hit that life isn’t forever.

As a doctor, a surgeon, a heart specialist, I have always understood (perhaps more poignantly than most) how tenuous life is, how suddenly it can be snuffed out, even without warning.

And these things convinced me that it was time to live out one of my dreams – to write books. Three of them, actually. One will be a ‘how to’ business book. Another will be in the ‘Self Help/New Age’ genre. And the last will be a fiction novel.

I’ve decided to set aside 6 months to do it. It may take longer – or maybe get done sooner. It doesn’t matter.

My online business is structured to run pretty much hands-off, so I don’t expect it to be affected seriously. But just to insulate myself against any downturn, I’m doing one last launch before taking this break…

My Last Hurrah!

It’s a business optimization course, called the BUSINESS MULTIPLIER. In a free report, I introduce the concept and share the EIGHT force-multipliers that make profit surges inevitable in any business. The report is being avidly downloaded and getting some rave reviews.

I’ve given a few people ’sneak previews’ of some modules of the full course too, and their comments and feedback has been glowing too. Some snippets:

“In ‘Business Multiplier’ you’ve left no stone unturned in telling exactly how any product owner can boost profits by offering specific, well written testimonials.”” – Joanne Mason
“The 15 minutes you
will invest to discover this Business Multiplier strategy, and maybe another 15 to implement it – will be the best use of your time and it will instantly pay for itself multi-fold!”
” – Adam Urbanski
“…this should be a breath of fresh air for newbies in the business. Your method is an excellent way for marketers to build their list, make more sales, and maintain a high customer/lead retention rate.” – T.M.Harris
“4 seconds into the audio I knew it was something I wanted to listen to carefully. After 5 minutes, I put my laundry aside, started the audio over and sat down to take some serious notes. Good thing you can stop and rewind because the content was really great.” – Tina Williams
“This is not only for people who are entrepreneurs… The audio also gives ideas for wanna be entrepreneurs who are starving for ideas for starting a new business… I strongly recommend everyone to give a try you will definitely benefit from it.” – S.Anand Nataraj

And there are many more on file. The course will be ready in a week or two. I won’t be pitching it with a lot of hype and hoopla, so if you’re even curious about it, I encourage you to sign up to the ‘Announcement List’. You’ll get a free report giving more details, too.

Oh, and please tell a friend :)

And You Were Upset About WHAT?

by Dr.Mani on February 20, 2009

RE-TWEET IT!

Today, I experienced one of those moments that remind me how much my profession influences my life.

A middle-aged couple consulted me about a month-old baby they had just adopted, and only afterwards discovered had a heart defect. Fortunately, it was a simple condition that may not require surgery, so I reassured the anxious parents that there was little to worry about at the present time.

But then, as I was getting their back-story, a sad tale unfolded. They had 4 children of their own earlier, all boys – and 3 had died of other birth defects, with the last waiting on a liver transplant list!

As I listened to them share their stressful life experiences, I couldn’t help but marvel at how much courage, fortitude and faith this amazing couple was showing every day – and at how trivial my own problems seem in contrast.

Many things were disturbing my peace of mind this past week. After consulting with this family, all of them faded away. I’m left with nothing but a deep sense of gratitude for life, and all that it has given me.

You?

What were you upset about before reading this post?

Are you, still?

Lessons from Tweetathon 2009

On September 12th, 2008, I ran an event called the Heart Kids Tweet-a-thon on Twitter. It was to raise awareness about congenital heart defects in children and generate funds to sponsor heart surgery for some kids.
For 24 hours straight, I posted tweets every 30 minutes. The event had some great supporters, and raised [...]

OVERLOAD!!!

I have a faint idea of how you may be feeling. Because 14 YEARS after I started working online as a fund-raiser and infopreneur, I’ve had the longest period of “paralysis by analysis” lately.
One thing after another, each seemingly better than the last, has been grabbing my attention. And all of [...]

In the year and a half I’ve been on Twitter, there have been a flood of posts on this blog talking about various experiences, thoughts and opinions I’ve had about the service.
Today, I pored over the archives and picked out these “BEST TWITTER TIPS” to share with you – hope you find them interesting, useful [...]

Lock – UNLOCK!

If you know me, you know I love to innovate and experiment.
And on Twitter, I run many different tests, try out multiple approaches and flaunt various ‘rules’ (proclaimed by the Twiterati)… all in the interest of finding what works.
Often, I share them on my blog, or in tweets, or with my email list – for [...]

Strategy or Tactic?

Dr.Harlan Kilstein is a fantastic copywriter, effective marketer and one of the brilliant people I engage with in interesting conversations on Twitter.
We were discussing my recent blog post about Frank Kern. And something Harlan said got me thinking about the impact and power of strategy versus tactics. It isn’t always easy to know [...]

Why Don't I Buy From Frank Kern?

I wonder why I’ve never bought stuff from Frank Kern!
I just realized today, while taking an evening walk and thinking about the ‘Results in Advance’ concept Frank teaches in his latest video, that this is probably the only major IM ‘guru’ from whom I’ve never purchased anything.
And that’s strange, because just his free content has [...]

FREE Software

Some years back, I bought a piece of software from Neil Shearing.
It was related to affiliate marketing – not surprising, as Neil is one of the best-known SUPER-affiliates, and has been ever since around 1998 when I first heard his name.
The software I bought cost $97. I didn’t hesitate to do it – because [...]

Mark Joyner and I

He’s been called the ‘Godfather of Internet Marketing’ – and lot worse, too.
He’s a marketing genius, an extremely intelligent man, best-selling author many times over, brilliant strategic thinker, and highly successful entrepreneur.
He’s my friend – Mark Joyner.
I knew about him since 1997. He probably heard about me the first time just before he retired [...]
