Coming from a high 6 figure income - to bankruptcy, and now earning enough to pay the bills online .... I too have seen friends who's families are growing without them. Friends whom I miss dearly and who died far too early in life - with so much or their 'song' still inside them. I've often told my kids that all I want saying at my eulogy is simply "He Lived Before He Died!" .... because that is the direction of my life ... To ensure that I keep enjoying the challenges that are presented before me, to ensure that I keep the passion burning and enjoy everyday, and to LIVE while I'm alive. Far too many get tied up with the stresses of getting to where they think they need to be. Even when I went bust and people kept telling me how sorry they were... they always looked surprised when I laughed it off and told them I had to have a go, and I'll soon get back the things I've lost that matter. That half hour with your daughter going for an ice cream must be worth more than an email blast to a list of 100,000 ..... Yet some would miss it completely and never know it's value. If only ... But then - I suppose I wouldn't expect anything different from you Dr.Mani .... you've always come across as some after my own .... a man who is driven by his passion! Great post... That has got to be one of the best posts I’ve read for a good while.
