RE-TWEET IT!

Interesting enough, I’m starting to care less lately about what others may think… in a good way!
After posting a long comment on another blog yesterday, I waited for it to be reviewed before publishing – and found that it had NOT been approved. Earlier, I might have felt insulted, angry or both. But not yesterday. I just published it here on this blog – and forgot about it!
It took many years to overcome this feeling of “What will they think?” before I finally decided to write a fiction novel. “How does it matter what they think?” I asked myself. “It’s what I want to do.”
So I got started – and am thoroughly enjoying the process, as you’ll see if you follow along on this blog!
The thing about worrying too much of what others will think is that it could end up paralyzing you, or keeping you from trying something you really want to.
And there’s no way of knowing what others will think about you if you go ahead – or even if they do. People aren’t always concerned about YOU, y’know. Only about THEMSELVES! (Get over it – that’s the way it works.)
Yesterday, my good friend Dileepa Lawrence shared a part of an email from Rich Schefren’s ezine in our private group forum.
“You see, she doesn’t really care what others might think.
And this perspective is crucial if you want to succeed in
business today. Bottom line, if you are too concerned about
what other people might think you’ll end up paralyzed by fear. So, what about you?
Do you laugh when you’re caught with your pants down?
Or, do you panic and worry about what others might think?”
Great question.
My answer would have been different had you asked it of me a few years back.
Today, if you ask me, “But, what will THEY think?”, my response is clear and confident…
I Don’t Care!

Dr. Mani, Rich’s article was great! and like you, I don’t care! what other’s think. I think so much of our upbringing teaches us to worry about what other’s say or feel, while the reality is to live by these “learned” standards, puts immense constraint on an individual’s true capabilities. Be who you are and Love It!
