As one of fewer than 20 pediatric heart surgeons in a country with over a million children with congenital heart defects,
I should charge top dollar for my services – but I donate them.
As one of the 50 top ranked Internet marketers in the world,
I should have a fleet of outsourcers handle my business – but I answer my own email.
As chairman of a non-profit foundation, and fundraiser-in-chief of large sums necessary to fund expensive heart surgery,
I should have snazzy stationery, flashy promo material and classy brochures – but I rely on a plain website.
As a busy professional who also squeezes in what should be a full-time job as an Internet infopreneur,
I should be working hard all the time – but I pass time on Twitter and engage in multiple conversations.
As a networker with many mentors, friends and contacts who would rank as celebrities,
I should be snooty and snobbish and exclusive – but I enjoy friends from all walks and levels of society.
As a middle-class Indian who was brought up steeped in conservative conventional values and systems,
I should fit in and conform with what’s suggested by the ‘wisdom of the crowds’ – but I am DIFFERENT!
Shouldn’t you ‘be different’, too?
