RE-TWEET IT!

Tim Ferriss (of “The 4-Hour Workweek” fame) blogged recently about “The Karmic Capitalist: Should I Wait Until I’m Rich to Give Back?”
That made me re-visit a post I made on one of my other blogs about a similar topic.
On a forum, someone who read about my hectic, yet fun mix of online and offline activities that included the recently concluded 24-hour day/night blogging event, the Heart Kids Blogathon said:
“I’m inspired to do the same some day.”
My reply: Thanks, why not begin TODAY?
It’s exactly how the Heart Kids blogathon was set into motion – by someone on that very forum asking me many years ago, “Why not just get going TODAY?”
While it’s nice to want to wait until certain specific circumstances and situations arise, the reality is there is no better time than now, no better day than today, no better person than you to set out and go for your dreams.
And I don’t just mean charity, even your own business and personal goals begin today.
One of my favorite quotes comes from a famous Indian freedom fighter, Netaji Subash Chandra Bose:
Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow may never come. Today is yours. Act. Act. Act.
Oh, and in case you missed my annual fundraiser, we raised a bit over $18,000 for charity which will fund at least 6 operations on children with congenital heart defects!
I’m delighted to note that Tim’s blog ties in to another charity I strongly support, endorse and find inspiration from – John Wood’s “Room To Read“.
John’s book, “Leaving Microsoft To Change The World“, gave me immense energy, drive and motivation – it’s a book I urge everyone who wants to change the world to buy and read soon.
